The Lumber Wizard provides powerful, yet precise detection of metal objects imbedded in both new and used lumber. The large scanning area makes inspection of stock an extremely quick process. Sensitive to a wide variety of metals including steel, stainless steel, zinc, magnesium, and aluminum. Detects a 3" piece of metal up to 6" deep, a large deck screw up to 4" deep, a med. nail up to 2-1/2", and a small wood staple up to 1-1/4" deep. Requires 9 volt battery (not included).
